BakBone
Software, a global provider of heterogeneous integrated data protection
solutions, today announced that its flagship backup and recovery software
NetVault: Backup has won the second annual Diogenes Labs-Storage magazine
Quality Award in the enterprise-class backup and recovery category, featured in
the November 2006 issue of Storage magazine. BakBone secured the number one
overall ranking against a field of five other enterprise competitors by winning
four out of five categories, including product reliability, initial product
quality, technical support and sales force competence.
The
industry's only award program based on objective, empirical and statistically
valid assessment of product quality and reliability, the Diogenes Labs-Storage
magazine Quality Award program is designed to quantify real-world experience
factors by surveying IT professionals directly. For the enterprise backup and
recovery software program, 500 respondents identified as backup and recovery
users were assessed across five main categories: sales-force competence, product
features, initial product quality, product reliability, and technical support.
Among the
findings from this survey, respondents ranked BakBone NetVault: Backup first in
four of the five categories. With compliance and data availability being key
data protection issues to enterprise users, most notably, BakBone bested all
other product entries in the product quality and reliability categories.
According to respondents, NetVault: Backup is also the easiest product to deploy
among enterprise products. In the sales force competence category, the results
highlighted a vendor's ability to recruit, train, service and support quality
resellers. BakBone led this category with a runaway high score centered on the
flexibility of BakBone sales representatives. BakBone also ranked number one in
the technical support category. As part of its industry-leading technical
support offerings, BakBone offers regional-based support and rapid incident
response
